Free training sessions from the Minnesota Departments of Agriculture (MDA) and Health (MDH) are being offered statewide this fall to help farmers in need. The safeTALK training teaches participants how to recognize someone having thoughts of suicide, how to engage them, and how to make sure they get help…

“We’ve also had a lot of farm deaths this summer in accidents and I’m also very concerned that farmers are under stress and making bad choices working on their farms.”

Minnesota Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen says at least five farmers have died this summer in grain bin accidents. The first session is set for today in Thief River Falls, with sessions to follow in Moorhead, Faribault, Austin, Marshall and Waite Park. for more information, you can visit the MDA’s website.
