Ahead of President Trump’s visit to Minneapolis Thursday, Mayor Jacob Frey, tried to clarify his earlier comments that “under ordinary circumstances, it would be an honor to welcome a sitting President of the United States. But these aren’t ordinary circumstances”…

“In Minneapolis we stand up for our neighbors, we welcome people from all over the world, and we are united in the belief that our diversity is a form and a source of strength.”

Frey and Trump had a war of words on Twitter earlier today when Trump called Frey “a radical left mayor” accusing Frey of trying to make his campaign foot the bill for $530,000 in security and other costs for Thursday’s rally at Target Center. Frey says paying the bill is not a political issue.
