New Ulm Police officers stopped 47 drivers as part of the Busted by the Bus campaign. Two officers rode along the morning bus route with children to school.
The officers monitored traffic around the bus and were watching for vehicles failing to stop for school bus stop arms and distracted driving.
There were no stop-arm violations. Ten drivers were cited for violations such as texting, failing to obey traffic signs and driving without a valid driver’s license. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol also participated.
