Governor Tim Walz says he supports a total ban on flavored e-cigarettes in Minnesota, citing a significant increase in vaping by youth:

“Banning the flavors all across the board, to include menthol, which has always been a technique of getting at (the youth market) too.”

It appears any ban would require approval by the legislature because the governor says his executive authority is limited:

“I cannot ban flavored e-cigarettes at this point in time.”

The Trump administration said last month it would ban the sale of most flavored e-cigarettes, including mint and menthol.   E-cigarettes makers say those are popular varieties which should not be considered flavors.
