Tomorrow (WED) is Walk and Bike to School Day. Dave Cowan with MnDOT says it’s meant to promote exercise and safety…

“You know we’re seeing so many more students who are being driven to school these days, and at the same time we see students with health issues, everything from diabetes to asthma, so walk and bike to school day is a chance to get out there and try walking and biking on.”

More than 200 Minnesota schools and thousands of students are expected to participate this year. There’s also a Walk to School Day photo contest where students are encouraged to submit photos on the Minnesota Safe Routes to School Facebook page with the hashtag mnwalks.
