The state Department of Human Services (DHS) is correcting another error this week after discovering a glitch to the tune of $1.8 million involving former MinnesotaCare members who were overcharged. It comes on the heels of recent controversies related to overpayments and allegations of fraud.

“Certainly, people have a right to expect and trust that when they’re enrolled in our program, we’re going to get the eligibility right, the premium levels right and that if they overpay us, we’re going to get premiums back to them.”

Deputy Commissioner Chuck Johnson says it’s the kind of problem that DHS needs to “clean up.”
