State health officials are gearing up for the start of flu season…

“Although flu does circulate at low levels even during the summer and early fall months, we usually don’t see a big uptick in cases until October, November, around that time, but at the same time we know flu is unpredictable.”

Karen Martin with the state Health Department is especially encouraging kids–who are prone to quick-spreading-germs in school–to get their flu shot as soon as possible.
