A state Senate bonding tour of northeast Minnesota continues today with planned stops in Virginia, Lake Vermillion and Ely. The price tag for all project requests statewide sits at around $5 billion and Committee Chair Dave Senjem of Rochester says there’s no way to fund all the projects…

“The bill two years ago in 2017 was a billion and a half dollars, so whether it’s that or around a billion, we’ll see, but at this point we’re just looking at the projects and getting a sense of what they are and trying to rank them, if you will, in terms of overall importance.”

The bonding tour is set to continue tomorrow (THU) with visits addressing wastewater facility improvements in Two Harbors and coastal infrastructure in Duluth. Tours of northwest Minnesota are tentatively planned for early next month.
