More Minnesota volunteers have been sent to the east coast to aid in the relief effort as Hurricane Dorian strikes.
“Right now we have 48 volunteers from our Minnesota region deployed, and that number will certainly increase.”
Carrie Carlson-Guest with the American Red Cross says the volunteers are providing a variety of services, including helping shelter people, and providing health and first-aid assistance. The volunteers are in Georgia, the Carolinas and Florida. Carlson-Guest says the aid effort will likely last for months.
