Kato Flex, a Mankato transit option now offers bus rides from Sibley, Germania and Tourtellotte (north) neighborhoods, city of Skyline, West Mankato and LeHillier in South Bend Township to anywhere in Mankato at no cost.
Residents who live in these neighborhoods simply need to register for the service by calling staff at 507-625-7433. Since it’s an appointment-based service, customers can schedule a ride at a time that works for them.
Youth ride at no cost after 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and on non-school days
Youth (age 6 through high school) may ride all city of Mankato buses at no cost after 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and anytime on all non-school days (including weekends). High school students simply show identification. Providing a no-cost bus service this summer can help youth succeed by being independent and responsible, which is one of 40 developmental assets identified by the Search Institute. These assets help make young people more likely to grow up healthy, caring and responsible.
Service to Eagle Lake
Mankato’s bus service to Eagle Lake is provided 6:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Route 20 is a one-hour loop that begins at the Regency Manufactured Home Park, 133 Country Manor Court, Eagle Lake; and ends at Mayo Clinic Health System hospital (door 2), 1025 Marsh Street. Designated stops also include Uncle Albert’s in Eagle Lake, Walmart, River Hills Mall and the Mankato Clinic.
People may flag the bus to stop anywhere along the route. Basic fare is $1.50 per one-way ride and mobility bus fare is $3 per one-way ride. Download a printable route map and schedule.
