The Minnesota D-N-R is closing walleye fishing on Mille Lacs September 6th so anglers do not exceed a safe walleye harvest level.

“It’s necessary for us to stay within our agreed-upon limits of walleye–so angling for all other species is going to stay open.”

The DNR’s Brad Parsons is reminding anglers that fall is an excellent season for small-mouth bass fishing on Mille Lacs. Winter walleye regulations will be announced in November.
