Governor Tim Walz says his upcoming trip to Japan and South Korea should be good for Minnesota farmers and businesses.

“This is a lot of Midwest governors, there are several of us going, Democrats and Republicans, Japan-our 4th largest trading partner in Minnesota, really focusing again on new opportunities. I think they see the value of the work ethic in Minnesota and the Midwest, they see the value of the trade opportunities.”

Walz first hinted at the trade mission just before FarmFest, saying ag producers face immense challenges from the trade war with China. The trade mission is set to begin on September 6th.
