Farm safety and wellness will be the focus when the University of Minnesota and Farm Bureau Financial Services team up for a first-of-its-kind pavilion at next month’s FarmFest near Redwood Falls. The U-of-M’s Diane Kampa says there will be daily safety-and-rescue presentations on grain bin accidents, tractor and A-T-V rollovers, and power take-off mishaps:

“Live demos where they will demonstrate and walk people through what can happen or how the rescue goes, and some prevention messages in there to help reinforce what we can do to prevent those types of incidents.”

There will also be free health screenings and information on mental health, business safety, injury response and healthy living — for farmers, farm families and workers.
