Rep. Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) visited Minn. Gov. Tim Walz (D) at the State Capitol to discuss their mutual support for the U.S. Highway 14 Four-Lane Expansion Project near New Ulm.

Both Walz and Hagedorn agree this 12-mile stretch of the highway must be completed to improve safety and create economic opportunity for southern Minnesotans.

Members of Congress for southern Minnesota have long-supported the Highway 14 Corridor project, from U.S. Rep. Ancher Nelsen (R), first elected in 1958, to Walz (D), who was Hagedorn’s immediate congressional predecessor.

Last week, Hagedorn wrote U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and urged her to approve BUILD grant funding of up to $25 million for the Highway 14 Corridor project.
