Fourth of July can be a particularly stressful holiday for dogs. Zach Nugent with the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota says it’s best to keep your dog home during the fireworks in a closed in, quiet place:
“Try and muffle that noise however you can. So if you have loud fans, radio or even TV on that’s going to help add a little distraction, muffle that noise and really help keep a pet calm.”
Nugent also says make sure your pet is wearing proper identification. More pets run away on the Fourth of July than any other day.
