The BCA is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Eagan that left one man dead following a standoff lasting several hours. Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday night Eagan Police responded to a domestic assault involving a gun. Police Chief Roger New says the suspect fled the scene on foot and was cornered by police in a nearby commercial building:
“At some point during the negotiations shots were fired. Life-saving measures were attempted however the man was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital. No officers were injured during this incident. Officers were placed on paid administrative leave which is standard practice involved in an officer-involved shooting.”
It’s unknown how many officers were involved. New did say officers involved were wearing body cameras and squad cameras were rolling during the incident.
