If you’re planning to travel this summer especially internationally, health officials are encouraging you to double check to make sure you and your family are up-to-date with your measles vaccination:

“Measles anywhere in the world is a danger to all of us because it is just a plane ride away. And ummmm….so we do want to make sure that everyone is up to date on their MMR vaccine even those who aren’t traveling internationally.”

Lynn Bahta with the state Department of Health says while there have been no cases of measles reported in Minnesota so far, an outbreak continues — the largest since the 1990s.
