After much of the state saw a damp start to the week, National Weather Service meteorologist Nicole Batzek says the added moisture will keep the state’s water levels high.
Soils are very saturated, anything that falls is pure run off. So a lot of our rivers are rising, or have risen and are gradually falling. We also had some reports across fields and grassy, ditchy areas.
Batzek says in parts of southeastern Minnesota rainfall totals topped three inches.
