A bill with new protections for seniors and vulnerable adults is heading to the governor’s desk for a signature after passing in the State Senate late Sunday night. The bill creates a licensure framework for assisted living providers.

“It’s so important to get this done right away and we’ll now join all the other states in the country in licensed assisted living facilities.”

The bill’s author, Democratic Representative Jennifer Schultz of Duluth. In addition to the new licensing framework, the measure establishes a bill of rights for residents of assisted living facilities and stronger consumer protection measures.
