Officers with the New Ulm Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol stopped 31 drivers for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. This event kicked off the Stop For Me campaign targeting drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians while crossing intersections. The New Ulm Police Department is planning to have more Stop For Me events planned at various locations around the city in the future, in addition to focusing on distracted driving.
