Controversy is brewing ahead of President Trump’s visit today to Minnesota in the wake of his recent tweets about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Omar says death threats have increased since the president’s tweets.

Minnesota GOP Chair Jennifer Carnahan says as someone who’s received death threats herself, she sympathizes but adds…”maybe she should stop stepping on a hornet’s nest and using inflammatory language and pushing a narrative out there that gives people reason to believe that she’s anti-American.”

The president late last week tweeted a video of images from the 9-11 attacks alongside comments Omar made about civil rights of Muslims in America since then. He tweeted today that Omar is “out of control.”
