A North Mankato State Senator and his DFL colleague are introducing a bill Tuesday meant to move Minnesota toward 100 percent clean energy.

North Mankato State Senator Nick Frentz.

“This will be a fairly significant piece of legislation seeking to chart out Minnesota’s path toward carbon-free renewable energy by 2050,” said State Senator Nick Frentz.

The legislation would prompt a transition away from power sources that rely on fossil fuels in favor of renewable sources like wind and solar.

State Representative Jamie Long of Minneapolis co-sponsored the legislation.
