A 20-year-old Mason woman has been charged with underage drinking for the eighth time in just over two years.

Mankato Police say Kaitlyn Mason was among a group of people hanging out in the Stadium-Warren Street area who appeared to be drinking and tried to conceal the booze when an officer drove past.

The criminal complaint shows the officer found two cans of alcoholic beverages and a partially empty bottle of rum near them.

Mason was given a preliminary breath test, which registered a blood-alcohol level of .218.
